However, he told ministries, sectors and localities not to be complacent about the achievements. Regarding the on-going severe cold spell in the northern region, he said: “Amidst the severe and harmful cold weather and the traditional Lunar New Year Festival or Tet which comes in about 10 days, more attention should be paid to people’s health and farming activities. The related sectors have to take prompt measures.”

PM Phuc asked for efforts to ensure goods supply and social and traffic safety during Tet. “The Consumer Price Index of January grew 0.51%, higher than the same period last year. It requires closer coordination in managing prices of electricity, education, and healthcare services to keep the annual CPI of less than 4%. I ask ministries and localities not to increase fees of relating services.”

Mr. Phuc said the government’s main tasks in 2018 remain policymaking to create a breakthrough in socio-economic development.
