(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and a high-ranking delegation left Hanoi on Thursday for Japan to attend the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit in Tokyo from July 2-4 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe. During the summit, the Vietnamese premier and other Mekong country leaders will attend a function at the Imperial Palace and meet with Tadamori Oshima, Speaker of House of Representatives of Japan, and Yamazaki Masaaki, Speaker of Japan’s House of Councilors. They are also scheduled to attend the “Economic Forum” in Tokyo.

Within the summit framework, Prime Minister Dung will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to discuss measures to boost the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership. He will also meet with leaders of some leading Japanese groups and organizations, including the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
