Vietnam asks Russia to increase its presence in the East Sea to ensure aviation and navigation security and safety and support the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the  Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), said Prime Minister Phuc. He added this will contribute to maintaining peace and security in the region and protecting Russia's interests in oil and gas cooperation with the region and Vietnam.

At the meeting with Prime Minister Phuc in Hanoi on Wednesday, General Patrushev said that the Russian President has decided to give the Vietnamese people a batch of Sputnik V vaccine. He wanted the two sides to promote the implementation of Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union to strengthen trade and investment cooperation. He  suggested that Vietnam create favorable conditions for Russians to do business successfully in Vietnam, especially in gas exploration projects, engine production, and power production. The Russian side is ready to support Vietnam in the fight against money laundering and terrorism, said General Patrushev.

Prime Minister Phuc thanked Russia for providing medical experts and equipment to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam and for supporting the Vietnamese community in Russia. He expressed his special appreciation to the Russian Government for donating Vietnam Sputnik V vaccine during Patrushev’s  visit.

1,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine given by Russia to Vietnam were brought to Hanoi on Tuesday by Secretary of Security Council Patrushev and have been placed in cold storage, according to the Health Ministry.
