(VOVworld)-Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged the southern province of Tien Giang to improve the human resources for sustainable development.

During his working session with provincial leaders on Saturday, the Prime Minister reviewed local socio economic development and asked the province to mobilize resources for public infrastructure, including road, health care and school projects. He praised the importance of Cho Gao channel as the key waterway of the Mekong Delta and called for its further investment:“Cho Gao channel is the single most important waterway in Tien Giang and the Mekong Delta. It serves as the only transport route for goods and passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta provinces. I ask the Ministries and Planning and Investment, Transport and Finance to mobilize resources to improve Cho Gao channel by 2015.”

The Prime Minister called for further scientific and technological application to improve the local agricultural productivity while expanding consumption markets to raise farmers’ income.
