(VOVworld)- On the sidelines of the 27^th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received US Trade Representative Michael Froman on Saturday. The Prime Minister praised the completion of TPP negotiation saying it is the result of respect for mutual benefits and mutual trust contributing to deepening economic-trade cooperation.

Dung reiterated Vietnam’s determination to strengthen international economic integration and seriously implement commitments in Vietnam-US Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organization. The Prime Minister urged the US to recognize Vietnam’s market economy. The US Trade Representative praised the close cooperation between Vietnam and the US in TPP negotiation saying the conclusion of the TPP negotiation created a prerequisite for economic and trade cooperation between countries in the region. The US wanted to work closely with Vietnam and other countries to realize the TPP. Froman said the US read ready to provide necessary technical assistance for Vietnam to utilize the TPP once it takes effect.
