PM: Vietnam basically contains COVID-19
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has basically contained the COVID-19 epidemic, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a meeting on COVID-19 response and loosing restrictions for business activities, creating jobs, stabilizing production, and boosting growth.

The Prime Minister gave thanks for strong political determination, since Vietnam has nearly 100 million people but only 270 COVID-19 infection cases and no deaths. The infection rate in the country is among the lowest in the world.
According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Vietnam can produce coronavirus test kits which have reasonable prices and the same quality as imported products.
The National Institute for Hygiene and Epidemiology has worked closely with Japan’s Nagasaki University to develop antibody-based test kits which are expected to be released for commercial production by the Ministry of Health.
If successful, Vietnam will be the fifth country in the world to have produced antibody test kits which will help evaluate the spread of infection in the community.
