(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will chair a conference to implement the Politburo's Resolution on socio-economic development, national defense and security assurance in the North Central and Central Coast region to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The conference is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Quy Nhon City. The North Central and Central Coast region is strategically important in economics, politics, culture, society, environment, national defense, security and foreign affairs, especially the sustainable development strategy on the marine economy.
Themed "Connection - Marine economy breakthrough - Rapid and sustainable development", the conference will discuss the development of 14 localities.
Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong told a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday: “Among the solutions, I think the solution to restructure the regional economy and promote marine economic development is important. The marine economy covers the sea potential of tourist resorts, coastal economic zones, industrial parks, and another area that we have not yet developed is a modern coastal urban system and the land fund."
"We believe that it is necessary to develop specific plans and coordination among ministries, branches and localities for specific development,” he added.
