During Wednesday’s phone call between PM Nguyen Tan Dung and his Australian counterpart, Tony Abbott, the leaders also reached a consensus on assigning the two foreign ministries to cooperate in implementing the outcomes of Mr. Dung’s recent visit to Australia.

Mr. Dung reiterated Australia’s request to finalize procedures on granting licenses for Vietnamese agricultural products exported to Australia. He also demanded Australia establish a food check office in Vietnam to ensure the quality of import products in line with Australia’s standards and reduce risks for Vietnamese exporters.

Australian PM Abbott agreed with Mr. Dung’s proposals and reiterated his wish to boost bilateral trade and investment ties.
