Poet Hoang Nhuan Cam passes away aged 69

(VOVWORLD) - Poet Hoang Nhuan Cam passed away on Saturday afternoon in his own house in Hanoi. He had lung disease for many years.

Born in 1952 in Hanoi, Cam graduated from the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University and was a member of the Vietnam Writers’ Association.

He was famous for love poems, a favorite of young readers. Cam’s poems include “The first leaf," "Departing for the front in the cicadas crying season," "After many times of dating, you finally come," "Across the Duong River," and "The autumn dice."

Poet Hoang Nhuan Cam published such poem collections as "Poetry at the age of twenty" printed in 1974; "Verses written for the Sun" in 1983, "Autumn dice" in 1992; "Poetry with childhood" in 2004; and "After many times of dating, you finally come" in 2007.

Cam also wrote screenplays and was an actor. He won the first prize of the Literature and Arts Newspaper in 1972-1973 and the Vietnam Writers’ Association Prize in 1993.
