Pompeo, Lavrov to discuss Venezuela
(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Finland next week to discuss the crisis in Venezuela, a US official said Thursday.
The two will take up “a broad range of issues” when they meet on the sidelines of an Arctic Council meeting starting Monday, the official said. Lavrov announced Thursday that Russia will create a coalition of countries to oppose US interference in Venezuela.
Russia is mobilizing a coalition that respects the UN Charter, Lavrov told reporters in Uzbekistan's capital city of Tashkent, adding that he hopes the UN will provide the coalition serious support.
