After Paris, Pompeo will travel to Turkey to meet with Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople - the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox world. Pompeo is not scheduled to meet with any Turkish officials.
He will then head to Israel, where he will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to Israeli media, Pompeo will become the first US Secretary of State to visit one of Israel's settlements. He will also tour the Golan Heights, whose annexation by Israel was officially recognised by President Trump. Pompeo will also visit Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
