Tehran says it is ready to resume talks with P5+1, which includes Russia, China, France, Britain, the US, and Germany, if these countries show goodwill, said Ali Baqeri Undersecretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council yesterday. Iran’s oil exports have been hobbled by the sanctions of the United States and the EU. Iran used to be the second biggest oil exporter of the 12 members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), but has now fallen to fourth place. Iran Minister of Oil and Gas Rostam Qasemi denied the claim that Iran’s output has fallen to 2. 7 million barrels of oil per day and said Iran is still producing 4 million barrels per day. At a press conference, Qasemi said Iran may have to stop all oil exports if the US strengthens sanctions.
