(VOVworld) - 800 outstanding youths will attend the 7th Vietnam Youth Federation national congress in Hanoi this weekend. They represent 54 ethnic groups, armed forces, young businesses, workers, farmers and Vietnamese students at home and abroad.

During the 3-day event, they will review the implementation of resolutions of previous congresses and discuss plans until 2019. Nguyen Phi Long, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation, said: "On this occasion, we’ve decided to launch the campaign “I love my fatherland” to promote young people’s patriotism by encouraging them to contribute their strength to national development. With this campaign, we hope to unite young people regardless of their ethnicity or religion, and encourage their creativity and hard work to contribute to national construction and defense in the new context."
The congress’s opening ceremony will take place on Saturday.
