President Quang said APEC and ASEAN are the two successful mechanisms leading in promoting economic growth and connectivity in the region. The President said the dialogue is an opportunity for the leaders to exchanged views and orientations for APEC-ASEAN cooperation, especially measures to strengthening cooperation to address common challenges, economic connectivity, reinforcing a sustainable regional economic architecture, thus creating a new impetus for a comprehensively integrated and inter-connected Asia-Pacific for peace, stability, dynamism and prosperity.

APEC and ASEAN leaders agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation and synergies between the two mechanisms to reinforce a sustainable, transparent and highly-adaptable regional economic architecture and implement integrated economic initiatives to realize a comprehensively integrated and inter-connected Asia-Pacific Community.  

The APEC and ASEAN Leaders’ informal dialogue first organized at Vietnam’s initiative helped foster cooperation between the two mechanisms, aiming to promote the Asia-Pacific's role as a driver of global growth and integration.
