The President said that the maintenance of high-level delegation exchanges and visits has created a foundation for their closeness. He called on the two sides to tighten coordination for development and prosperity, affirming that the Vietnamese agencies will work with the Singaporean Ambassador to propel bilateral relations forward.

Also on Wednesday, President Tran Dai Quang hailed the contributions of Egyptian Ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hana to fostering the friendship and partnership between Vietnam and Egypt at a reception for the outgoing ambassador in Hanoi. President Quang said Vietnam hopes Egypt will have a successful presidential election for a stable and prosperous Egypt.

This year Vietnam and Egypt will celebrate the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, he noted, suggesting that the two sides increase delegation exchanges and meetings between businesses to promote investment, trade, and tourism, while fostering people-to-people contacts. He said the two countries should promote cooperation in all fields and lift bilateral ties to a new height.

Ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hana said that Vietnam plays an important role in Southeast Asia, therefore Egypt hopes to bolster ties with Vietnam and other regional countries. This year, he said, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture plans to hold several cultural activities in Vietnam to mark the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. Vietnam and Egypt have created a roadmap for the implementation of outcomes of the Egyptian President’s visit to Vietnam. The ambassador said Egypt hopes to welcome President Tran Dai Quang soon.
