President honours outstanding children in "A Thousand of Good Deeds" movement

(VOVWORLD) - President Vo Van Thuong on Friday attended a ceremony to mark 60 years of the movement of making a thousand of good deeds and honor outstanding young pioneers of this movement.

Speaking at the ceremony in Bac Ninh province where the movement was first launched, President Thuong said that the movement has over the past 60 years encouraged young pioneers to foster and strive to become good people. He asked the Youth Union and the Young Pioneer Union to strengthen the movement with more creative, practical, effective manners to inspire young pioneers to make good deeds and spread the movement.

The event, jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union's Central Committee, the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children's Union and the provincial People's Committee, drew 263 delegates representing 1,000 outstanding children who showed good deeds in 2023.

Earlier, President Thuong offered incense at Den Do temple which worships Kings of the Ly dynasties.
