Meeting with 45 delegates representing 20 ethnic minority groups from the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang, in Hanoi on Wednesday, President Phuc urged Cao Bang to focus on building a strong political system, listening and promptly resolving the legitimate aspirations of the people.

It is necessary to well implement the guidelines of the Party on the development of ethnic minority areas, effectively implement the National Assembly's Resolution approving the master plan for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the 2021-2030 period, he said.

The President emphasized the need to launch a movement of self-reliance in the localities, encouraging and creating conditions for people to actively work to escape poverty, preserve cultural traditions, promote fine customs and traditions, and abolish backward customs.

In particular, it’s imperative to create the most favorable conditions so that all children can go to school and study properly, because this is an important premise for sustainable poverty reduction and rise to wealth and a better life, President Phuc said.
