(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang received the new ambassadors of the US, Panama, and Qatar who presented their credentials on Tuesday. President Sang told Panama ambassador Servio Samudio that Vietnam is Panama’s reliable friend and that the two countries will soon commemorate the 40^th anniversary of their bilateral ties.

President Sang welcomed Qatari ambassador Ibrahim Al-Hamar and said Vietnam is ready to introduce major projects to Qatari investors and will review signed agreements to promote investment cooperation between the two countries. He added that Vietnam will be a gateway for Qatar to expand cooperation with ASEAN after the ASEAN Community is be formed next year.

The Vietnamese President told US ambassador Theodore Osius that he believes the ambassador will contribute to relations between the two countries, which will mark 20 years of normalized relations next year. He hoped that the two sides will continue to address obstacles to bilateral cooperation in order to boost trade and economic ties. He also thanked the US for opening its market for Vietnamese litchis and longans beginning in 2015, calling it a basis for better trade relations between the two countries.
