"It is clear that Ukraine is not a member of NATO. We understand that. We are adequate people," he told leaders of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) led by the UK.

"For years, we have heard about the supposedly open door, but we have also heard that we should not enter, and this is true and we must admit it."

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine needs to find new forms of cooperation with the West and a security guarantee.

Russia's Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia said on Tuesday that Moscow will present a draft resolution on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. He added that Russia will end the special military operation in Ukraine when the objectives of this operation are achieved, including demilitarization.
