(VOVWORLD) - The Press Green Beauty 2019 pageant has been launched to honor the beauty and talent of female journalists and emcees who work at press agencies in Hanoi.

The event is co-organized by the Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency, and Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Youth Unions. At a press conference launching the event on Wednesday, the organizing board said the beauty contest will tighten solidarity among media agencies and inspire creativity in the workplace. The theme for this year’s event is environmental protection and activities undertaken by reporters to promote a greener environment.
So far, 36 entries have been submitted by hopefuls under the age of 40 who work for Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency, VOV, Dantri online newspaper, and the An ninh Thu do (Capital Security) television channel.
Contestants are asked to submit a video on protecting the environment, particularly dealing with plastic waste. The winner will be named “Miss Environment”.

The 36 contestants will compete in a talent segment on Friday. This will be followed by a grand finale in Hanoi on Saturday which will involve Ao Dai, evening gown, and Q&A segments. The winner will receive a crown and a cash prize worth 1,700 USD.
