(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will attend the 24^th ASEAN Summit in Myanmar on May 10-11 at the invitation of Myanmar President Thein Sein. Prime Minister Dung will also attend other conferences with the spirit of dynamism and responsibility in joining with other ASEAN countries to promote ASEAN’s key role in resolving issues relating to peace, security, stability and cooperation in the region, accelerate the establishment of the ASEAN Community by 2015 and maintain ASEAN’s central role in regional processes. The Vietnamese delegation’s attendance at the meeting also aims to promote Vietnam’s role in ASEAN.

On Friday, the ASEAN Senior Official Meeting opened in Nay Pyi Taw to prepare for the 24^th ASEAN Summit and related Meetings including ASEAN Foreign Ministerial Meeting, the 11^th Meeting of ASEAN Politics-Security Community Council and the 14^th Meeting of ASEAN Coordination Council.
