Prime Minister orders strong measures to overcome flood aftermath

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has ordered coordinated efforts to overcome the aftermath of floods and torrential rains. He asked the People’s Committees of Yen Bai and Son La provinces to mobilize all forces and means to search for the missing, and evacuate locals from dangerous areas or areas prone to landslide and flash flood.

Local authorities were urged to visit and comfort the affected people, provide medical treatment to the wounded and burial service for the dead, and arrange temporary accommodations for evacuated people.

The PM asked for the deployment of forces to ensure traffic safety in submerged areas, support people to repair houses, clean the environment, recover damaged infrastructure, especially schools, hospitals, and irrigation facilities.

The National Committee for Search and Rescue, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security were ordered to work with the Military Region 2 and on-the-spot forces to conduct search and rescue activities at the request of Yen Bai and Son La.
