Prime Minister Phuc said addressing gender inequality is a crucial part of the millennium target programs: “It’s necessary to build a national action program on gender equality along with enacting a Law on Gender Equality and working out a national strategy on gender equality. Improving the legal system and promoting communications on gender equality at all levels is also important. We need to arrange resources and integrate relevant programs. It is essential to further communicate about gender equality to Ministries, sectors, and the whole society”.
The Prime Minister said that the Government has requested the Ministry of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs to work with the Vietnam Women’s Union to implement this program. The Government is preparing a bill for submission to the National Assembly on developing small-and medium-sized enterprises, focusing on female entrepreneurs.
