The Prime Minister asked Ha Giang to help flood victims, cure the injured people, and mobilize local forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences of floods. The dispatch urged local authorities to arrange temporary accommodation for households who have lost their houses, relocate residents out of dangerous areas, and provide food to prevent people from starving. The province needs to ensure traffic safety in areas affected by landslides and floods and repair damaged infrastructure.

The Prime Minister asked relevant ministries and agencies to soon restore production and be well prepared for the subsequent floods. He sent his condolences to the relatives of those who died of the floods.

Torrential rain during the past few days have triggered flash floods and landslides in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang, killing at least five local people, according to provincial authorities. Torrential rain and rising floodwaters also damaged 57 houses and submerged more than 500 houses in Ha Giang city, and districts of Vi Xuyen and Hoang Su Phi. Traffic on National Highway No2 linking Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces was paralyzed by landslides. The Ha Giang provincial administration has mobilized police officers, soldiers and young volunteers to affected areas to assist local people.
