Promoting Vietnam Red Cross’s role in ensuring social welfare

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has pledged favorable conditions for the Vietnam Red Cross’s activities, which he said reflect the country’s humanitarian traditions.

At a working session in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister Phuc asked the society to continue promoting its role in ensuring Vietnam’s social welfare. He called for efforts to expand humanitarian relief movements and help educate humanism. The Prime Minister suggested the society increase cross-border cooperation, attract more assistance from the international community, and actively participate in disaster relief around the world.

The same day, working with the Former Teachers’ Association, Prime Minister Phuc praised the Association for their consultation with the Party and State on educational development. He urged the Ministry of Education and Training and relevant agencies to listen further to the advices of former teachers and take better care of current employees.  He said he hopes the Former Teachers’ Association will take a more active role in national education reform.
