The alliance will offer free tickets to visit Ha Long Bay, the Yen Tu Monuments and Landscape Complex, and the Quang Ninh Museum in May and June, and will launch a ‘buy one get one free’ ticket campaign for domestic tourists.

Tran Van Hong, Deputy Head of the Cruise Ship Association, Ha Long branch, said: “To prepare for this year’s summer holiday and stimulate tourism demand, we have worked with in making plans. We have cut fare prices for cruise ships, discounted 30% the food prices on board, and promoted Ha Long Bay to domestic visitors.”

An art program will be organized to kick off the 2020 summer holiday at FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club & Luxury Resort, replacing the Ha Long Carnival of previous years.

Pham Ngoc Thuy, Director of the provincial Tourism Department, said more than 70 culture, sports, and tourism events will be held.

“We have worked with the provincial Tourism Association to set up a tourism stimulus alliance. Participants should unite to counter the psychological impacts of COVID-19 and prove that Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh is still a friendly, attractive, and safe tourism destination,” said Thuy.

Da Nang has devised eight solutions to revive tourism that give priority to the domestic market and gradually diversifying the international market.

The solutions include tourism communications and promotion, ensuring that Da Nang is a safe destination, maintaining air routes, researching and evaluating other markets, and improving human resources.

The municipal administration has focused on helping businesses increase their product quality and cooperation in implementing major tourism development projects.
