Religious organizations praised for environmental protection contribution
(VOVWORLD) - A national conference honoring Vietnamese religious agencies which have contributed to environmental protection and fighting climate change will open October 14 in Thua Thien-Hue province.

Mr. Ngo Sach Thuc, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, told a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday: “Protecting the environment and coping with climate change is a mission of the Party and the people. The Party and State’s policies on this issue are comprehensive. A government program calls on all religions to support environmental protection. Efforts by the whole political system are needed to create significant change in public awareness and actions. Regulations on this issue should be included in religious teaching so followers can turn them into practice.”
