Renovation of Friendship High School handed over to Vientiane

(VOVworld) – A ceremony took place in Vientiane yesterday to hand over the renovation of the Vientiane-Ho Chi Minh City Friendship High School, a gift from Ho Chi Minh City to the Lao’s capital in the framework of Ho Chi Minh City Days in Vientiane. The 5-million USD project was funded by the city’s non-refundable capital to Vientiane. Speaking at the ceremony, Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Municipal Committee believed that the school will help train workers for Vientiane in particular, and for Laos in general, while expressing his hope that the two cities’ youth keep learning and raising their awareness to continue the glorious history that generations of both Vietnam and Laos have built up.
Later the same day, Mr. Hai and Ho Chi Minh city’s delegation met with President of the Lao Front for National Construction Phanduangshith Vongsa, and visited Vietnam’s Embassy in Laos. At talks with Vietnamese Embassy’s staff, Vietnamese investors, and overseas Vietnamese in Vientiane, Secretary Hai urged the Embassy as well as companies and the overseas community to uphold their achievements to act as the link between Vietnam and Laos, and create a positive image of the two countries’ special and loyal relations.
