Romanian media highlight Vietnam-Romania ties

(VOVWORLD) - The Romanian News Agency on Wednesday reported a phone call between Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis during which, the two leaders discussed recent developments and potentials of Vietnam-Romania cooperation, including in fighting COVID-19.

President Iohannis thanked Vietnam for giving Romania medical equipment when the pandemic broke out in Romania last year. He said Romania will donate 100,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to Vietnam and stands ready to help Vietnam control the pandemic any way it can.

President Iohannis said he hopes, with the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement taking effect, that the two countries will expand cooperation into new fields, and increase multilateral cooperation to strengthen global compliance with international rules.
