Russia, China sign new deals to develop bilateral cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -Russia and China signed several deals to expand bilateral cooperation after talks between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Chinese State Council's Premier Li Qiang in Beijing on Wednesday.

Among documents signed are protocols on phytosanitary requirements for millet and medicinal plant products for Chinese medicine exported from Russia to China, which will be in effect between Russian plant and animal health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor and China's General Administration of Customs (GACC). 

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and China's Ministry of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding on trade cooperation, which seeks to develop inter-regional trade and encourage companies of the two countries to participate in exhibitions, fairs, and events. 

Kremlin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the two sides are discussing the timing of an official visit to China by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
