During their meeting, the two leaders vowed to strengthen bilateral relations and find a solution to the Ukraine issue.

Putin said Russia-China relations have significantly developed in the past 10 years, with bilateral trade turnover doubling from 87 billion USD to 200 billion USD, adding that the two sides have many goals in common.

Xi said Beijing appreciates and wants to further strengthen its relationship with Moscow, expressing confidence that Russians will support Putin in the 2024 presidential election.

China will resolutely cooperate with Russia in safeguarding the international and UN-centered system, promoting a multipolar world order, and democratizing international relations, as well as making equitable and reasonable contributions to the world’s development, said Xi.

During their talks in Moscow on Tuesday, Putin and Xi discussed ways to develop their relationship, according to the Kremlin.

The two sides are expected to sign 10 cooperation documents, including a joint statement on strengthening their comprehensive partnership and strategic relations in a new era, and a joint statement on Russian-Chinese economic cooperation until 2030.
