Russia considers ASEAN important security partner
(VOVWORLD) - Russia considers ASEAN a strategic partner in ensuring regional security and stability, said Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin on Sunday at the 16th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.

He noted that the viewpoint was adopted by defense ministers of Russia and ASEAN countries at their informal meeting in April where both sides agreed to take measures to develop Russia-ASEAN relations in counter-terrorism, maritime security, and assistance in disaster relief operations.
