Russia plays a more active role in building Asia-Pacific region

(VOVworld) – A Vietnamese delegation led by Pham Xuan Son, deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, is attending the 15th Congress of the United Russia Party, the current ruling political party in Russia, from June 26-28 in Moscow.

In his speech at a round-table workshop on opportunities and challenges the world is facing, in 2016, Son gave a brief account on situations in the world and the Asia-Pacific region, recent developments in the East Sea as well as Vietnam’s stance on handling such disputes. Speaking highly of Russia’s role as a powerful country in Asia and Europe, he suggested Russia taking a more active part in preventing challenges and pushing back risks, helping build an Asia-Pacific region of peace, stability and prosperous development.
