Putin asked for an analysis and assessment of vaccines produced by Russia on whether they work on new variants. Putin suggested additional research and modifications to their registration records if necessary. He asked the government and heads of mass immunization units to strictly adhere to approved vaccination plans. More funding will be allocated if needed, said Putin.

Russia is the first country in the world to resister a coronavirus vaccine developed by the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after V.I. Gamalei and the Russian direct investment fund.

2.9 million Russian people have so far administered the COVID-19 vaccine. It has increased vaccine production and immunization in a hope to resume a pre-pandemic life by this summer.
