Russia views such actions by the Biden administration as an unwillingness to build US-Russian relations on a partnership basis, said Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry.

Earlier on Saturday, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that the US sanctions on Nord Stream 2 are in violation of international law.
The 11 billion USD project, which will double the existing Nord Stream pipeline across the Baltic Sea and allow Russia to bypass Ukraine when piping gas to Europe, has been a focal point of tensions between Moscow and Washington.
Both the US and Ukraine opposed Nord Stream 2. Recent US administrations have imposed sanctions on the parties involved in this project.
