Russian Mi-8 helicopter shot down, killing all 5 onboard
(VOVworld) – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Monday that rebels in Syria shot down a Russian Mi-8 helicopter, killing all five military personnel on board.

He said they died heroically, and that the Mi-8 had been on a humanitarian mission. Peskov said Moscow will continue to fight international terrorism "on all fronts", despite threats from the Islamic State. The IS posted a video showing images of helicopter debris. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the helicopter was shot down by ground fire in Idlib province Syria following delivery of humanitarian supplies to Aleppo. It is the third Russian helicopter lost in action in Syria this year.
