Scientists are the nation's precious asset: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday said the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations is the convergence of wisdom of thousands of scientists and is a precious national asset.

The Prime Minister attended the Union’s 8th National Congress themed Solidarity- Creation-Innovation-Development. Addressing the event, Prime Minister Phuc said that Vietnam’s demand for faster and more sustainable development requires human resources.
He emphasized that intellectuals, including members of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, need to strive more and contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of the country.
He said, “The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations needs to actively participate in the realization of science and technology goals, improve the quality of human resources, attract talents, promote innovation, strongly apply science and technology, especially the achievements of the fourth Industrial Revolution, and create new dynamics for rapid and sustainable development of the country. Efforts should be made to make science and technology really an important driving force, improve productivity, quality, efficiency, strength, and competitiveness of the economy, protect the environment, and ensure national defense and security.”
