Ho Lien Nam, Head of Sales for the Quy Nhon Port Company, said the route will shorten the delivery of goods from Vietnam’s central regions to northeast Asia markets, which are major importers of Vietnamese goods.

He said that once the route is in operation, it will carry high-value goods like frozen fruit in addition to commodities like wood chips, wood pellets, and tapioca.

Some 1,400 containers carrying 19,000 tons of goods will be transported each month. Trips will increase from once a week to twice a week by mid-August if demand increases.
