According to Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long, there is great potential for Vietnam and the UK to expand their trade links, especially after the UK joins the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement (CPTPP).

As a rapidly developing economy, Vietnam is a large consumer market with a growing demand for high-quality products, Long said, pointing out opportunities for UK firms to export whisky, food, and agricultural products to Vietnam.

The UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Vietnam Mark Garnier spoke highly of Vietnam’s economic achievements in recent years and its dynamism, saying that Vietnam has opportunities to expand its economic ties with countries and partners seeking growth opportunities.

He pointed out some sectors where the UK wants to tighten cooperation with Vietnam, including energy, education, financial services, science, healthcare, technology, and infrastructure.
