(VOVworld) – A seminar on the role of the Hanoi Opera House in the modernization of Vietnam’s stage in the early 20^th century took place on Wednesday at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

In her latest research on the cultural heritage of Hanoi Opera House, French Professor Corinne Flicker clarified the life and art career of Claude Bourrin, the theater’s first Director, and introduced the formation of Vietnam’s modern theater in the early 20^th century.
The seminar examined how Claude Bourrin adapted the conventions of dramatic art to the Vietnamese stage and paved the way for it to expand its scope and develop its own identity.
