Senior officials pay pre-Tet visits to Tra Vinh, Bac Giang province

(VOVWORLD) - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on Wednesday visited and offered Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, the executive board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and workers in Long Duc Industrial Park in Tra Vinh province.

During her trip to the CYVina company in Long Duc Industrial Park, the Vice President presented gifts to 50 employees and said the Party and State have many policies and measures to restore socio-economic development under which enterprises and workers will benefit most.

“I hope that local authorities, trade unions, and companies will do their utmost to ensure workers have a warm and happy Tet. Everyone deserves a sufficient Tet festival. This year the government will outline more measures to adapt to the new normal, but we must continue preventive measures against the pandemic. That’s the only way we can ensure socio-economic development,” said Madam Xuan.

The same day, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ngo Sach Thuc gave Tet gifts to COVID-19-affected workers who work in industrial zones and disadvantaged people in Tân Yên district, Bac Giang province. He called on local administrations and agencies to mobilize social resources to help poor households and the most vulnerable to stabilize their lives.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Association for Child Rights Protection organized a “Warm Tet for Children” program to present gifts and scholarships to 870 children in difficult circumstances in Vietnam’s northern mountain region and the children of soldiers and border guards in Cao Bang, Lang Son, Dien Bien, and Hanoi’s Ba Vi district. The total value of the gifts was nearly 42,000 USD.
