Seoul Defense Dialogue addresses security challenges by strengthening solidarity

(VOVWORLD) - The ongoing 11th Seoul Defense Dialogue is discussing cooperation in promoting the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, rebuilding trust in the Indo-Pacific region and the military’s role in hybrid warfare involving both conventional and unconventional war instruments.

The event was attended by senior defense officials and experts from 54 countries and territories, as well as regional and international organizations worldwide.

Its four special sessions will be arranged to discuss international peacekeeping operations, the fight against disinformation, defense technologies for military modernization and defense acquisition efforts.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, deputy minister of national defense of Vietnam joined other military officers at the Dialogue that opened on Wednesday.

The Seoul Defense Dialogue, chaired by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea, has been held annually since 2012 in order to create a multilateral dialogue channel to exchange regional and international security issues of mutual concern, contributing to building mutual trust among the participants and promoting dialogue and cooperation.
