Shinzo Abe: Japan’s collective self-defense is geographically borderless

(VOVworld) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday that Japan should not impose geographical limits beforehand on where its Self-Defense Forces (SDF) can be deployed to defend allies in collective self-defense.

Speaking to the Budget Committee of Japan’s upper house, Abe said he planed to convince the Diet to endorse the right of collective self-defense to defend Japan’s allies even when Japan was not under attack. His comments  followed recent beheadings of two Japanese citizens by Islamic State militants
