The Philippines’ Rappler website quoted Foreign Secretary Perfecto Yasay as saying the two leaders focused on the East Sea issue and fighting terrorism, illegal drugs, and transnational crimes.

On Thursday, the Philippines President began a two-day State visit to Singapore to enhance mutual understanding since the Philippines will serve as Chair of ASEAN in 2017. Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the two leaders want closer ASEAN coordination in coping with the challenges posed by cross-border crimes, terrorism, human trafficking, and drug trafficking.
