(VOVworld)- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has welcomed the US’ active Asia policy, especially US President Obama’s strong commitment to the region. During talks with US Vice President Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday, Mr. Lee reaffirmed Singapore-US bilateral ties and exchanged views on further enhancing relations. Both sides also discussed ways to support the US’ engagement efforts in Asia, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), especially when Asia is becoming more and more important to the US’s economic development and strategic plan. The two leaders agreed on the importance of successfully concluding the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement. Both sides acknowledged the progress made on bilateral law enforcement and homeland security cooperation, and noted how the Singapore-US Third Country Training Program has benefited US and other Asian countries.
