Situation of Vietnamese nationals in Nepal

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese embassy in India said it has repeatedly called for support from India and Nepal to rescue a group of 5 Vietnamese nationals stranded on mount Namche at a height of 3,440 meters. AIG Travel Asia Pacific company announced on Wednesday that it will arrange a helicopter to bring all its customers including the 5 Vietnamese nationals down to Katmandu capital. The company will then take care of transit visas and arrange a military plane to send them to New Delhi. The Vietnamese embassy said it has been following developments on the rescue of Vietnamese nationals in Nepal. It has sent a special taskforce to Katmandu with essential necessities to support Vietnamese nationals and help them arrive in New Delhi as soon as possible.

In related news, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has decided to provide 30,000 USD as emergency relief to help Nepal overcome the quake’s aftermath.  The money will be channeled through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The Vietnam Red Cross Society also plans to call for donations throughout Vietnam to support the people of Nepal.
