Drowning deaths have been reduced in the last 10 years but on average, 7 children, most of them under 5, die of drowning in a single day.

"In many cases, children can swim but still drown because they lack necessary safety skills and swim in deep water. We have provided children with safety skills, issued related guidance, and organized training courses for teachers on children’s water safety," said Vu Thi Kim Hoa, Deputy Director of the Children Department of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

Seminar participants shared experiences and solutions for teaching water safety and providing children with safety skills and parents and teachers with skills in supervision and children management.
