Somalia, EU enhance maritime security cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Somalia and the European Union (EU) are seeking ways to strengthen Somalia’s maritime security to fight piracy.

Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire and EU Ambassador to Somalia Veronique Lorenzo met Monday on board the EU’s flagship ESPS to discuss how the EU can best help the Somalian government ensure its maritime security. The two stressed the importance of cooperation in combating piracy, which has re-emerged in recent months off the Horn of Africa.
