Spring travels in full swing all over Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -Historical relics, scenic spots, and tourist attractions across the country are attracting crowds of people and tourists to enjoy spring on the first days of the New Year of the Snake.

From Wednesday to Friday, the first to third day of the Lunar New Year, the Hung Temple historical relic site welcomed thousands of visitors and locals who came to offer incense, praying for a year full of health, peace and luck.

According to the Tay Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, visitors to scenic spots increased more than 10% over the same period last year, amounting to 300,000 arrivals. Of them, visitors to the Ba Den Mountain Historical and Scenic Area, known as the roof of the southern region, accounts for 90%.

Over the last three days, Hoi An ancient town remained a favorite destination for domestic and foreign tourists as it welcomed more than 50,000 visitors. Hoi An’s suburban destinations such as Tra Que Vegetable Village, which was honored by the UN Tourism as "Best Tourist Village of 2024", was packed with visitors.

Tong Quoc Hung, Head of the Culture and Sports Department of Hoi An city, said that in 2024, Hoi An joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of crafts and folk arts. Tet activities are providing an opportunity to introduce Hoi An with its rich culture and religious life to tourists:

“Cultural and artistic activities during this Tet are more exciting and diverse than in previous years. The message I want to send to all visitors to Hoi An is to look forward to a peaceful new year and there will be many new achievements on the path to development. Hoi An is striving to fulfill the task of building a cultural, ecological and tourist city,” Hung said.

Over the past two days, Moc Chau plateau, Son La province, welcomed more than 28,000 tourists. Accommodation establishments, tourist areas and destinations were organizing activities for visitors to celebrate spring and welcome Tet.

Hoang Manh Duy, Deputy Managing Director of Moc Chau Island Tourist Area, said, “We prepared very early for peak holidays, especially during the Lunar New Year of the Snake. In addition to preparing facilities, our staff has also been strengthened to best serve customers.”

The Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province said that during the seven-day Tet holiday this week, Quang Ninh welcomed 552,000 tourists and earned an estimated revenue of about 60 million USD, continuing to affirm itself as one of Vietnam’s most attractive destinations during Tet.
