Steering Committee urges stronger COVID-19 measures in Bac Ninh, Bac Giang

(VOVWORLD) -The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that COVID-19 response in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang was slower than originally planned.

At a meeting on Friday afternoon in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to speed up testing and apply new testing technologies. He requested the Ministry of Health to provide professional assistance to speed up the testing in these two localities.

The Steering Committee said Da Nang has basically controlled the pandemic and will record about 10 new cases a day. Yen Bai and Vinh Phuc over the past three days have controlled COVID-19 clusters and not many new cases will be predicted. Ha Nam province has not recorded any new cases in the past three days. The Cancer Hospital is cleaning area by area to resume operation soon although it has detected new cases.

In Hanoi has recorded many new cases of COVID-19 but the sources of infection are clarified. The Steering Committee forecast that there will still be a number of new cases in Hanoi.
